Abstract

Dental plaque formation is linked to periodontal disease, a chronic, multifaceted inflammatory disorder. Microbial an imbalance has been connected to the pathophysiology and fundamental the cause of periodontal disease. Research is still being done to determine the causes of dysbiosis of microbes in the oral cavity. The structure of bacteria and how they create biofilms or microbial films on a variety of substrates, including the oral cavity, have been the subject of research. Protozoa are among the microbes found in human gingival bio films, according to recent studies. The article attempted to describe the possible role of parasite infection in the etiopathogenesis of periodontitis.
